Crafts

After viewing the crafts, you will notice that you get to make some choices. Email your choices to us, using the contact form at the end of the post.

This is an example of two of the crafts we will be doing. The first is the jackolantern candle holders that are reclaimed wine goblets which you will paint and decorate. The second is the embellished candles which you will make using tissue paper images that are embedded in the candle using waxed paper and a blow dryer.

You will recieve these supplies: goblet, paint, paint brush, leaves, marker, candle, tissue paper, waxed paper.

You will need to provide: 2 bowls/jars of water for the brushes, throwaway towel, hair dryer or heat gun,

You may choose the image for your candle from the photo below.

A third craft is this giant spider web which you will cut from folded tissue paper, much like a snowflake. Attached is a friendly spider you make from pom poms, pipe cleaners, and, of course, googly eyes.

You will recieve: tissue paper, template, pom poms, pipe cleaner, googly eyes.

You will need to provide: pen/pencil, scissors, glue, two or three paper clips, toothpick.

The last craft will be the finishing touch to your Halloween decor: Spooky books.

Covering these books took me back 50 years. We used to purchase book covers to cover our textbooks — they were like a nickel, I think, in the bookstore. If you couldn’t purchase one, you covered them in old paper bags. Back then, paper bags were all we had for groceries.

Please choose which cover you’d like to get. It will be printed on an old paper bag. The cover fits an old-fashioned pocket paperback of about 350 pages, give or take. If you would like, after the tea I will send you the files for the other two books so you can have all three.

Choose from “Modern Alchemy”, Haunted Mansions”, or “Bats”.

You will receive: printed cover of your choice.

You will provide: scissors, tape, old paperback book.

Don’t forget to include the following in the contact form.

  • Delivery address(es). No haunted houses, please.
